Louise Lasser: Born April 11, 1939

Louise Lasser first became a household name starring as the neurotic & unhappy housewife on the evening soap opera parody Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman which like a soap opera, daringly aired five nights a week during the 1976-1977 seasons.  Lasser is a beautiful actress who’s success with Mary Hartman, may have unfortunately etched the image of a middle aged Pippi Longstockings into the minds of the general public. You may not even remember that  she had a starring role on the show “Its a living” alongside Anne Jillian, or possibly you may best remember Lasser for her recurring role as Alex’s ex-wife on the hit show Taxi. Married to Woody Allen in the 1960’s Lasser starred in several of  his movies including “Take the money and run” and “Bananas” along with the provocatively named film only Woody Allen could have made “Everything you wanted to know about sex but were afraid to ask”
