Sophia Vergara was born in Columbia. Getting her start as a model, Vergara was widely seen through out the U.S. on Univision using her wit and inteligence working as TV hostess on several spanish language shows in the 1990′s. It was not untill her exclusive contract with Univision experied that she was able to test the “Hollywood” waters and signed up with ABC to work on some situation comedies – Ultimately leading up to her break out role on Modern Family.
